Toto, the company well known for its innovative toilets, showcased the new, artistic Waza Miyabi collection at the KBIS (Kitchen/Bath Industry Show) 2009. The patterns for these toilet models are based on sho-chiku-bai, which means “pine, bamboo and plum” in Japanese. Each toilet is hand-painted by a Japanese artist, so you won’t find any two identical in the Miyabi collection. The Miyabi toilets are an artistic representation of the four seasons. The plum tree design of silver branches and vivid flowers represents spring. The highlight of the collection is the Miyabi Summer toilet (pictured above), which features an eye-catching golden plum-and-bamboo motif painted in 24-karat gold and sells for a whopping $12,000. The rest of the three in the Miyabi collection cost $10,000 each.

With the introduction of hidden TVs and TV lifts, it seems the days of designing a room around a TV as the centerpiece are over. A perfect solution for rooms that need to have a clean, uncluttered look, the FLP-310 ceiling flip-down TV lift by “Lift It” fits LCDs and plasma TVs of the size between 42-inch and 55-inch. Primarily designed for ceiling installations in the home or office, the flip-down lift can be equally ideal for boats, yachts and RVs where space is a premium. Its ultra slim design, at a mere 4 and a half inches deep in your ceiling, makes for a great way to fit a big TV into a small space. The remote control can be used to close the lift and hide your TV. The lift turns off your TV as it closes and turns it on again when you bring it out. The FLP-310 travels a full 110 degrees to offer you a wide field of viewing, so that you can enjoy the TV from anywhere in the room. Priced at $2695, the FLP-310 ceiling flip-down TV lift allows you to conceal your TV when not in use, and maintain the design integrity of the room.

Global real estate agency Coldwell Banker’s Capricorn Coast branch has nine beautiful islands on offer starting at just under $1m. Although thats the price of an average beach front apartment in California, it includes a luxury mansion. The most expensive is $67m.
