Seems like it’s a gold rush in Dubai! While everything has turned plastic in California and elsewhere in the world, Dubai can afford the glitzy nod to hark back to the gold rush era. It surely comes as no surprise to spot a golden Audi R8 super car in, you know where. There’s all sorts of flashy stuff out there in Dubai that all eyes and radar can detect, but what sets this Audi apart form others is its stealth-like dull finish. The new monochromatic finish definitely calls for extensive staring at the vehicle. That’s a tantalizing blend of making us believe that such things do exist and I’ve been thinking a lot (lately) how it feeds on extravagant fantasy.

So, we buy those real expensive cars and get them to our homes. Sedans and/or coupes, they are all so high-end but still somewhere those seats don’t give the rear and the back the needed comfort on long drives. In solution, ASM Japan has come up with an add-on reclining seat for the cars. Finished in dry carbon, leather and alcantara, it is dubbed as the ASM x Recaro SP-X CL100 seat. The limited edition seat costs slightly under $20,000 for a pair. There’s nothing really on the details, but we have the pictures by GT-RR for your expensive desire.

“So, you have a Ferrari, I own a Porsche too.” For those uber-rich socialites who desire to stand out amongst their elite circles, personalization is becoming a big differentiation. It’s just a question of how far you can take it. If a gold touch is too blingy for your taste like this Golden Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, then this Ferrari F430 with plush crocodile leather interiors can never go wrong. The entire interior from the dashboard to even the roll bars have been decked up in crocodile leather. No word on who this discerning car owner is or who is responsible for this tasteful customization, but if Hermes is ever to take a plunge in to customizing autos, this is what we expect from them.

When you combine the ravenous demand for luxury goods with the squandered riches of the Middle East, there’s simply no end to the potential for outright hysteria. Replacing everything that is luxurious, cocooned right in the land of the luxury cars, the Golden Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano by Hamann sets the road ablaze. Finished in gold, the Ferrari features a new bodykit, subtle Hamann spoilers, an extra 53 HP, new wheels and hp.

It wasn’t long ago, when our dear friends at Gizmodo rightly guessed that bikes with chains are an endangered species, and it is indeed turning out to be a remarkable innovation, despite being unpalatable when it comes to its durability. While it may be a bit too early to declare it a new cycling revolution, Trek’s District Carbon Bike sans the chain but a belt drive, points to the early signs of a new generation market of pedals. As the new technology always fall in the high-end realm of the market, it was expected the same with the Trek’s new innovation, that comes at a whopping cost of $3,360.
So, while budget may nbe one of the issues that could take up the slack, not to forget that innovations obey the law of natural growth.

This Steampunk USB flash drive is in no way going to revolutionize anything in your gadgetry but the price would make you think of all sorts of lavishness, exclusiveness and luxury treatment that might be given to it. However, the eye-bleeding price of $3000 would prove everybody wrong. This state of the art 4GB flash drive is made from brass and copper and probably waiting for some art lover to consider it a bargain.
