Gone are the days of struggling with your knife to carve. Sophistication and convenience are the rule of the day. Yes, even when it comes to carving. The Craftman CompuCarve has arrived to make carving easy, and even fun, by combining it with the latest technology. This fully automatic carving machine carves soft materials like wood and plastic with admirable neatness and precision. In this endeavor, it is helped by QuickRout technology and the carving bits of varied sizes. Changing out bits is made a cakewalk by this technology. However, what sets The Craftman CompuCarve apart from others of its like is the memory card system. It spares you the risk of keeping a computer in the garage as you can stuff your designs in the memory card. This can be carried out in the easiest steps. You simply need to design your 3D projects using the CompuCarve software, load it into the memory card and feed the CompuCarve with it. Voila! That’s it! Then take a leisurely stroll through the set-up process and relax while your design gradually and surely takes the shape of reality. It sounds too good to be true. Thankfully, it is true. No more sweating and wrestling with blocks of wood and dangerously sharp knives. It’s so simple that it almost sounds like magic. What’s better, the gadget looks compact, sturdy and sophisticated. Priced at $1800.

For those of you gamers of the bunch who have the sort of money to blow on collections in their entirety, eBay is a hunting ground for the completest. The auction is over now, where the complete and 100% brand new and sealed Dreamcast collection of all games released in Japan were available. As a gamer myself, I can attest that a single package of 606 sealed games is the equivelant of a gamer goldmine. It would have cost you almost as much as one too, at a whopping $19,999, not to mention the cost of shipping and handling from France.

Some people are really touchy about every aspect of their automobiles. They want to be in control of each piece of hardware, despite the price or the insignificance of the object. Frank Vassallo IV of Wilmington, Delaware proves the length at which people will go for their cars, shelling out a total of $675,000 for the number 6 license plate, and was admittedly prepared to spend up to a million bucks for the solo number plate. When asked why he wanted number 6 so bad, Vassallo said “It’s a family thing.” The Vassallo family also owns Delaware plates 9, for which they paid $185k at auction in 1993, and number 27.

Good folks at Carts of Colorado turn mobile and modular merchandising concepts into workable solutions. They have a range of modular units to offer, but the one I liked the most is the PowerCart System, the just right thing for golf courses, campuses, resorts or anywhere you want to profit from far-off customers. Most remote locations can be served with ease by mounting special modules on Club Car motorized carts. The PowerCart System holds a good quantity of beverages and food items, so that you don’t have to make repeated trips to base for restocking. The lockable units reduce chances of theft. There are two models – the PC-LC-720-CC powered by 32 hp EFI engine and the PC-LC-935-TT power-driven by 49 HP engine. The best part is that you have the option to customize the cart system to your liking, including the choice of material used, storage, beverage system, and lighting options.

The Naim for Bentley sound system featuring their new Digital Signal Processor (DSP) unit designed for Bentley by fellow British audio specialists makes sure that you derive maximum enjoyment from your stereo while on a drive. The superior quality audio system makes the music distinctly audible over noisy engines. Now for the specifications. Nobody ever likes to think that they might be rendered homeless after a big natural disaster wipes out half their city. But if we have learnt anything from experience, we should know that it really helps to have a Plan B all the time. Apparently, temp-housing solutions company Martin House-To-Go think along the same lines and have designed a very beautiful emergency house called the ‘Fresh Start.’ What I really love about this temp house is that it looks like a real house and comes fully-equipped so you don’t feel homeless after disaster strikes which saves a lot in therapy bills in the long run! Since you don’t need a special permit or license to transport this house to a location more suitable to you, it makes a strong back-up plan for emergencies. And I’m really inclined to believe that the makers of this joint really know what they are talking about here since the owners of the company lost everything after Katrina and it is out of that horrible first hand experience that the under $30,000 Fresh Start was born.

If one of you wants to startle the woman in your life, blonde or not blonde, with this enchanting gift, then walk into the Hong Kong branch of Christie’s auction house where a rare 101-carat glittering piece of carbon will go under hammer on 28 May this year. The yet to be named squash-ball sized diamond is the biggest white diamond to be auctioned in nearly two decades.
