An island on Dubai’s man-made archipelago called The World will be transformed into the world’s first fashion island. The project Isla Moda will merge high style and luxury to attract the world’s fashion cream of the crop by including a fashion hotel, a range of themed residential villas, and boutiques representing the world’s most prominent designers. They will invite celebrated fashion designers from all around the globe to design different elements of the island. For now, the names of design houses haven’t been made public. The lavish Hotel Moda will have more or less 250 rooms and serviced apartments. Dubai Infinity Holdings’ Chief Executive Samira Abdulrazzak has cited that the first set of villas, the winter collection, is expected to go on sale in the fourth quarter of this year. She further said that the reported $80 million figure for the project cost is nowhere near the price of the island or the development and the island price tag falls closer to the $30m to $50m range. Howveer, she did not disclose the development costs.

Isla Moda is not going to signify a country but will be a city of fashion. The first stage is expected to begin before the end of the year, so we need to sit back and wait a while for the wait a while for the Fashion Week at Isla Moda.
