1. Jaynie: Tell us Vic, which one would you go for, iPod or Zune?

Vic: iPod, best gadget I own. Welcome to the social, it’s called Macworld. End of story.

2. N.Angelo: Do you think blogging has an edge over traditional journalism? If yes, your take?

Vic: Blogging has a massive edge over traditional journalism because it gives the ability for anyone with internet access to publish a news story. Secondly, the sheer speed those stories get out to the public thanks to RSS, makes blogs a better choice for news junkies. I have to admit that most traditional media sources are quickly realizing that blogs are way the to go to the point that even maintenance staff have a blog.

3. Vikas: One of the buzz that’s everywhere in the blogosphere, is the concern over increasing number of blogs and the cut-throat competion. What do you think about it?

Vic: As the blogoshere continues to grow people starting a new blog are going to have to work harder to make their mark in a particular niche. Established blogs have to continue working day in and day out to ensure they do not lose their portion of readers. I think for the most part especially in the gadget world, people are good at helping each other out and tend to build a network of friends to give them an edge. If your blog is unique and it has a laser sharp focus, you are going to do alright. If it’s like all the other blogs, good luck.

4. Mark: Which blogs are you associated with? Association with more number of people/blogs/communities/platforms is a better option than just opening a single blog. What do you say Vic?

Vic: I’m not really actively associated with any other blogs or communities but for anyone starting out I think it’s a great way of getting the word about your blog out there.

5. Jolly: What’s so uber about Uber-Review?

Vic: What makes us uber is the fact that we hardly use the word uber. Besides that, I think what makes our site special is the fact that we try to find things that are cool, crazy, weird, different, interesting and most importantly, unique. We try our best to publish material that has not been blogged or very few have touched. That is our recipe but please don’t tell anyone else.

6. Vicky: What blogging has taught you which you couldn’t have learnt by not being in this field?

Vic: What amazes me about running a website is how fast news travels and spreads around the web. I know that this is obvious to everyone but when you are one of the original source of some story and you see something you published go around the globe, it’s quite a feeling.

7. Dave: Who do you blog for - readers or yourself?

Vic: I blog for both myself and the readers. I try to publish material that I find interesting and that I feel the general reading public will find interesting.

8. Inzie: Don’t you think there are more important issues to discuss and give voice to for good than writing about technology?

Vic: Absolutely there are more important issues in the world than what I cover. What makes the site successful is the fact that I don’t cover those serious, harsh realities of the world. The Uber-Review is a place that you can visit and never worry about dealing with serious issues. I promise.

9. Richard: How do you pick and decide that this is the stuff you’ve to write on each day? What fascinates you the most?

Vic: I surf tons of various online stores and about 200 blogs to find the few gems that I will actually publish. I don’t surf all those sites everyday but I do skim through a majority of them. What fascinates me is anything that is different and quirky from the rest of the products on the market, hence my love for designer and concept products.

10. Cathy: Vic, as you know blogs are personal media, so, do you endeavor to present yourself in real form through your blog? If yes, how?

Vic: A greater majority of blogs are personal but since I deal with consumer electronics, it’s never about me and it will never be. I will express my opinion when I need to but it’s all about the gadgets and I will always keep it that way.

11. Vikas: What is that barometer through which you measure the success of your blog?

Vic: That’s a really good question. I don’t really use one item to gauge the success of the blog. I look at various trends with subscribers, number of comments, number of incoming links and advertisers favorite yard stick, page views. Another good tool to determine the success of your blog, is the number of splogs that scrape your content. The greater number of splogs grabbing your content the more successful you are.

12. Kelly: How would you define the present day advancements in technology - just a bubble or a real boom?

Vic: I think the world of technology is always in a constant state of “boom”. The business side of technology might be a different story but technology will always move in a forward direction. The world is filled with too many geeks (like myself) who will ensure that the technology envelope is always pushed ahead.

13. Nandini: Finally, your thoughts on BornRich and newly launched Instablogs Community?

Vic: I wish I was born rich, in fact I wish I was rich, or maybe just well off. Until then, I will continue reading BornRich and bookmark the items I will buy when I win the lottery. The Instablogs community appears to moving in a positive direction and has a great collection of blogs in the community.
