Trump has a house on the Atlantic in Palm Beach for 125 million...it has been on the market for a while at that price...and the Spelling manse in LA is expected to go to the market soon for as much as 140 million...
Hi C.k.dexter-haven,
Quite a few people own properties like that, for example it is estimated that the private island of the Onassis-family (Skorpios) could yield at least 200 Million US-$ if ever brought to the market. This is however the key, a price is determined at the moment a property is on the market or even better at the moment it is really sold. So in that regard Updown Court right now IS the most expensive property on the market. And it has been for more than a year so it remains to be seen if it can be sold at that price.
And especially regarding Donald Trump... Asking 140 Million is still a long way to getting 140 Million. He has been asking almost 60 Million US-$ for the penthouse in the Trump World Tower for YEARS without success. Trump mainly lists properties with outrageous price tags for publicity reasons, he therefore puts himself at the top of ”most expensive lists” often without the serious intention of really selling something.

Sorry, should have read ”asking 125 Million” in the case of Trump of course :-)
Hello AJ,
I don’t quite understand the logic of that...if a house is on the market at a given price, and the seller holds to that price, how does the lesser priced house become the more highly priced???
I have been in that Trump PH...the views are as spectacular as advertised...I also know that he has had offers in the range of 40+ million...not selling it at that price seems to indicate that he is rather wedded to the price of sixty, or there abouts...(full disclosure: although I have met him several times, we are not pals or business associates)
I do agree that what matters most is the selling price when the two parties have reached settlement.
As a sidebar: I just was informed by a realtor in LA that Candy Spelling has listed the manse at 150 million...does that not top the paltry 122 of Uptown Court??? I will however concede that they are almost in a tie for garishness.
Hi C.k.,
Well, it seems you have quite some inside information so I will happily stand corrected if I am wrong. As far as I read the Trump Home is not on the market yet, but that info might be outdated of course. The Real Estate Journal some time ago indicated that ’Trump May Ask $125 Million’, so there is a good chance that he has done now and I am not aware of it.
I also didn’t know about the Spelling Home, properties like this usually are conveniently listed on Luxury Real Estate and that’s where I mostly check for an overview. But it’s very exciting to hear that you were just informed about a listing. Do you also know with which agent that home is listed?
One thing to consider with Updown Court - although it would technically not affect it’s place in a ”most expensive homes” list - is that the construction is new and the huge house is basically empty. To outfit an interior of this magnitude adequately a new owner is likely to spend another 50++ million US-$ so I guess it’s one reason why it hasn’t found any buyer yet. It’s just too big and many among the few who can afford it already own large properties in the London area (Russian and Arabian Oil crowd, Mittal, etc.).
However if anything really is listed at a higher price than Updown Court it will take the crown of course :-)

Do you think that this house would sell if it was lottod at say $40k a ticket? I also heard that this is the most expensive newly built residence in the world
Oh..its my dog´s house..
On the grape vine I hear the guy that last owned up down court is doing time for money laundering and now an irish bank have taken posession. As a mood point ot all the bickering there is a house only two miles from uptown called longcross house.. it has enough security to look like a military base and is estimated to be worth a lot more than uptown, but isn’t actually on the market.

So much for the most expensive house in the world it apperently doesn’t even count as the most expensive house on it’s estate!!!!!
Correction... the uptown court is now at least a minimum of $139 million. not $122.2 million. By the way, Trump’s home was worth originally $125 million but he bought it for $45 million at an auction. The highest he can probably go might be somehwere around the uptown court let’s say, around $130 million after refurbishing and inflation on the U.S. dollar.
I happen to think whats been done to Updown Court is a wonderful thing. I’m also very certain someone else will appreciate all the imagination and skill that’s been put into this project. There has not been one owner but two that have also beleaved in Uptown court. Although the first, sadly could not see his dream arise. So, that being said, ”Kudos!” to he who has made a vision a great reality for the world, to see and enjoy, and also to the lucky buyer!
