Jay Maynard became a subject of discussion forums when his electroluminescent costume, inspired by the movie “Tron,” spread across the net. The Tron Guy bought a brand new airplane, an AMD Zodiac XLi in June 2008 for $140,000, but it seems the star couldn’t survive the economic downturn, and is now selling the customized plane on eBay. The plane was designed to match the Tron costume, without going completely overboard. The two-seater sport plane features a custom green-and-blue paint job and a custom interior intended that complements the exteriors. The seats are light gray and dark blue. The Tron Guy loves his custom plane and has put in about 150 hours of flying time, but it looks like he is finding it real hard to afford it amid the recession. He told Wired…

The AMD Zodiac Xli, which the Tron Guy bought for $140,000 a year ago, is currently listed at eBay for US $23,233. The bidding ends on July 1, 2009.
