Those who lived in style all their life deserve the same treatment for their final journey and in case, they had strong eco values, they do deserve to depart in an eco-friendly coffin. Well, don’t feel like I am counting on your days to die…lolz. Last month, I was here with a list of designer coffins you’ll love to die for and now, we have yet another coffin that wants you to go green after death. Eco-friendly coffins, which can be used for traditional burials and cremations, are becoming popular to help protect the environment. The innovative Transporter system from White Knight Funerals is the simplest and most environmentally responsible funeral style possible. The Transporter is a traditional looking coffin shaped box with a trap door in the bottom of it. This door combined with a standard cemetery lowering device lets your shrouded body to enter the grave. The whole process causes as little damage to the environment as possible.
From the exteriors, the Transporter looks like an elegant American styled metal casket. In the chapel and at the graveside, it does everything a normal coffin does. At the graveside, the Transporter is placed on a custom made lowering device, which when activated allows the base of the Transporter to open. In a smooth process that takes about 60 seconds, the shrouded body descends through the base of the Transporter onto the stretcher bed of the lowering device, and continues until the body lays in it’s final resting place.
