Toto, the company well known for its innovative toilets, showcased the new, artistic Waza Miyabi collection at the KBIS (Kitchen/Bath Industry Show) 2009. The patterns for these toilet models are based on sho-chiku-bai, which means “pine, bamboo and plum” in Japanese. Each toilet is hand-painted by a Japanese artist, so you won’t find any two identical in the Miyabi collection. The Miyabi toilets are an artistic representation of the four seasons. The plum tree design of silver branches and vivid flowers represents spring. The highlight of the collection is the Miyabi Summer toilet (pictured above), which features an eye-catching golden plum-and-bamboo motif painted in 24-karat gold and sells for a whopping $12,000. The rest of the three in the Miyabi collection cost $10,000 each.
