The royal Titanic has seen its doomsday, but the remains of Titanic, still knock-down the royal Brits with their price. A recent discovery shows that a Deckchair from Titanic, before it set to sail from Cork in April 1912, is expected to sell at $$75-100,000, next month. This chair is supposed to be the only six chairs left in the world and it is framed of pure beech and is going to be sold on May 7th, 2006 at the auctioneer’s annual Marine Paintings, Ship Models, Scrimshaw and Ocean Liner Memorabilia Sale at the Larz Anderson Auto Museum in Brookline, Massachusetts.

As per the spokeswoman of an auction:

The chair was admired by Barker, a senior photographer working at the time for The Cork Examiner (now The Irish Examiner), when visiting aboard the ship at Queenstown. Shortly before departure Barker asked Titanic officials if he could keep it as a souvenir. Permission was granted. Barker gave the chair to his housekeeper, Mrs O’Brien, whose family eventually brought it to England. A letter of provenance will be sold with it.

This is a royal chair from the luxury liner just waiting you to rock into the world of ‘pride of possession’ and ’sophistication’
