The growing fascination for amphibious vehicles is here to stay. Remember, I have earlier told you about the Terra Wind Amphibious Motor Coaches and world’s first underwater sports car, Subeo Aquarius. Now, the next entrant in the zone is the hydra Spyder from the Cool Amphibious manufacturers. The amphibious vehicle can travel on both the water and on the road and is also unsinkable. SeriousWheels, reports that, ‘the vehicle can seat four people, and it can easily pull a water skier with 400 h.p.’ The standard production model Hydra Spyder is powered by a Corvette LS2 6.0-liter V8 engine that delivers a 400 ft. lbs of torque and has five speed manual high performance close ratio transmission. The upper body of the car and has a 5052 alloy aluminum plate lower hull construction.

[...Pontiac is about to limit production of the Solstice and new G6 convertible in order to strengthen their residual values and avoid offering incentives. The magazine also says that GM has announced its plans to build 17,000 Solstices for the 2006 mode...]
I fail to see how your comment is related in any way to the actual article.
Unsinkable, eh? So was the titanic.
Sweet concept though.
ISTED AND ANDY!
to much money and time on there hands
oh, shock! They are finally coming back! I remember in 1969 down by Captree Island off Long Island, watching with some degree of amazement as a shiny new red convertible drove into the water and picked up speed and sped off. I looked at my best friend, we shrugged and figured that it was just something new that we’d never seen before and we never saw one again.
But I’m guessing that if it could be done in 1969, it has probably been done since then.
WoW and I thought they only existed in the Bond movies.
Anyone know of a small version that the normal person could afford to buy.
If I had a house by a huge lake, and had boatload of money, hell I’d get one. It’s a pretty fascinating concept to say the least. :)
This car is awsome 50 mph on the water eh? sweet!! bummer on land total bummer. 16-18 mpg =’....(
this car is like totally awesome . how fas does it go on land
this car is like weirdbut it is cool
The Hydra Spyder features a Corvette V8 engine, but Giljam said they are planning to upgrade it with the supercharged 502 CDI Chevy Race engine delivering about 400 to 500 horsepower. The Hydra Spyder is also equipped with a jet propulsion system, air retractable suspension on all four wheels, and a fiberglass body. Me thinks that it is worth the $155,000 you need to spend for it.
I realy like the hydra spider and the way you present it some of my friends and are saving up money to buy it for when we can drive in two years
It helps, of course, to learn these aquatic feats behind the wheel of his latest creation, the ”Hydra Spyder,” an amphibious car that cruises on H2O as easily as it does on blacktop. It just like it has a powerful Coil Spring Stabilizer which help in fast splashing.
