Already having a train line to the Tibetan capital of Lhasa since July 2006, the 1,142-kilometre (710-mile) railway-track is deemed to be very instrumental in renovating and developing Tibet as per the Chinese authorities. China is planning to fashion the most comfy train in the world, pursuing the track from Beijing to the Himalayan roof of the world. The fare is fixed to be 20 times the standard price - a cool $5600, which is more expensive than the air-ticket. The new train includes 12 passenger cars, two dining cars and a sightseeing car. The passenger cars will have four miniature suites (108 square feet) decked like a five-star hotel with a twin bed, lounge and restroom area. Scheduled to start running from September 1 onwards, three new Luxury trains will run off every eight days whereas the expedition is expected to take five days for completion. However, the critics opine that the line allows the Han Chinese to infiltrate into Tibetan local ethnicity and worsen ecological degradation in the area. Leaving aside the political concerns, enjoy the plunge into China’s most controversial rail line in downy console.
