If the high-priced 100 million diamond encrusted-platinum skull by Damien Hirst is horrifying expensive for your pockets then check out slightly lesser priced Swarovski Dead or Alive skulls. Ah, but if you are starving for piece of artwork by celebrated Damien Hirst only, then try your luck at his latest creation estimated at about $24 million. Christened as the “The Golden Calf,” it is the first time that a living artist has put a collection of brand new work straight on to the open market to grab it. Coming to the bejeweled calf, the artist has dared to submerge a bull in formaldehyde. And to boost its luxury quotient, he has crowned its head by a solid-gold disc while the hooves and horns are cast in 18-karat gold. This 2.15 meter bull sculpture sits on a marble base, is encased in a gold-plated box. Watch out for it at Sotheby’s sale over two days in September this year.
