You remember the Whoopi Goldberg movie Sister Act, where a nightclub singer rescues the church by inspiring the church’s choir and getting people interested in services? Well the church of Saint Eucaire apparently thought along the same lines when they got design studio RAFASCHIERI to renovate the altar and jazz up the furniture. Not that the designers let this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity go to their head, instead they were very cautious not to let down or offend their holy patrons. The designer used plastic as a basic ingredient and used it to represent the modern ritualistic expression. Using apocalyptic motifs and passages of revelation and symbolism in the New Testament, the designer undertook a deep study of the scriptures to express the modern aspects of Christianity which would make the church environment relevant to the younger generations.
