Motoart’s furniture is every design lover’s favorite when it comes to aviation furniture. But a much needed change comes from designer Facundo Poj with his “727 Jet Lounge.” The 727 Jet Lounge is composed of two Boeing 727 emergency exit doors. The designer says, “By the time these jets are decommissioned, an average 11,000 passengers have traveled by each one of the windows.” The recycled piece of furniture is detailed to provide comfort to its owner. The shape of the door remains the same; the aluminum is polished to reveal every single construction detail. Steel legs are attached to the existing safety brackets on the doors. The doors are positioned so that the curve is soft and continuous. The upper section is upholstered with free roaming cowhide, (the only part I hated about it). The piece is a limited edition of 10, since these doors are not easy to find. The Jet Lounge sells for $4,500.
