Ian Wright is pitching his $100,000 X1 roadster that runs faster than the much revered Ferrari, as a ‘car that could save the planet-fast’. But how; though, the reason that it runs on electricity is impressive enough to tickle our credulous minds, still we’ll wait and watch.

The X1 is the fastest car in the world with best ever recorded 0-to-60 acceleration time. Wright is expecting to launch the X1 as a small-production roadster through his startup Wrightspeed.

Michael V. Copeland is quite skeptical of ‘Wright’s garage-born heroics’ and suspects the success of the new electric vehicle dream unleashed by Wright, especially when GM failed to do it with more than $1 billion. However, Wright is sure of pitching in the commercial version of the X1 in the near future that’ll gives a 100-mile range, and recharges in 4.5 hours. But we believe that with the rising oil prices, stalwarts like Wright can come out with a new breed of environment friendly electric vehicles and save the planet.

Thanks: Michael V. Copeland
