We have already seen some splendid home theater set-ups lately, including the Death Star Theater, Titanic home theater, Star Trek home theater, Indiana Jones-themed home theater, Goldmund Media Room, the $3.4 million In-house cinema, and the state-of-the-art $100K Five-in-One home theater. Here comes a Terminator inspired home theater set-up dubbed Cyberdyne Cinema. Darren Mortenson, the fellow behind the incredible theater set-up, has designed it to look like a sci-fi set, which features variety of pieces from both sci-fi and horror film genres.. The products in the component list make for a reasonable budget as nothing seems to be really very-very expensive. The DIY aspect of the whole project is inspiring as Mortenson has done all the things himself. Most of the equipment is placed on glass shelving within the recessed A/V shelving at the front of the theater, which gets obscured when the gargantuan 159-inch Da-Lite screen is activated.
The theme inside this 470-square-foot home theater is over-whelming. Other than the Terminator connection, the room also features a life-sized Darth Vader, letters from Viggo Mortensen (Aragon from ‘The Lord of the Rings’ trilogy), and other memorabilia. Other main components include B&W loudspeakers, Hitachi 60SX10B 60-inch Rear Projection TV, JEC 7.5-inch Widescreen Color LCD Microsoft Xbox 360, Microsoft Xbox HD DVD Player, Mitsubishi HD-5000 1080p Projector, and the Lutron Lighting Control.
The Terminator inspired Cyberdyne Cinema is without doubt one of the coolest home theater set-ups I have ever come across and taking a not of the components, I don’t think it will pick that hard on your pockets.
