If you happen to be in Singapore, the cable cars between Mt. Faber and Sentosa are definitely an attraction you shouldn’t miss at any cost. The views of Singapore from the cable cars are simply breathtaking. The latest news is that these old school cable cars will stop moving later this year as Mount Faber Leisure Group has plans to introduce 68 sparkling cable cars by next year, including one festooned with Austrian Swarovski crystals. This Swarovski-studded cable car will be first of its kind in the world. A total of $36 million will be invested in this project. The revamp will start in August and is expected to be completed by the Q2 of next year. The cable car rides will be rebranded as jewel rides. The VIP jeweled cabin of the cable car will be equipped with a DVD player, a fridge and a high-end Bose sound system. Now, that’s pure luxury in the air. The cabin, meant for four persons, will have glass-enhanced crystal floor and black leather upholstery with embedded crystals. Moreover, the new cable cars will be wheelchair friendly. Mount Faber Leisure Group chief executive Susan Teh said...
It is part of our business strategy to prepare ourselves to cater to the ever-changing appetite of the tourism and leisure industry for the next decade of the 21st century.
The new, luxurious cable car system is expected to attract 1.7 million riders, which marks an increase of 10 to 15 percent. It’s good to see a few thinking of more and more luxury in these tough times.
