Huge monitors often make me smile, and I really fall for them. Sony is a real darling, they never let their customers breathe the old for long. Here is another set of awe-inspiring introductions from the production house and amazingly, for me, it’s raining monitors again. Sony Corp has developed 23- and 42-inch LCD monitors that have extended a color reproduction range, mainly a master monitor for broadcasting stations. There’s no word on specific values concerning the color reproduction range, though from what we know, the monitors can recreate a color range of EBU and SMPTE-C broadcast specifications. The 23-inch model comes with 1920 x 1200 WUXGA resolution, is slated to debut in the market by December 2007 for ¥2.079 million (appx. $20,000). While on the other hand, the 42-inch model boasts of 1920 x 1080, a full HD resolution, and as from Sony, the model will hit the stands in the spring of 2008. Perhaps nothing really exciting, but here Sony has fiddled with the RGB color sensors and a temperature sensor, incorporating them between the LED units to pump up the color contrast ratio keeping in sight the consumers hue n cry for better contrast.
