Sharp’s 108-inch LB-1085, the world’s largest LCD display that was unveiled at CES 2007 finally sees a launch at Gitex 2008 in Dubai. The behemoth panel features a contrast ratio of 1200:1, 400-cd/m2 brightness and offers an amazing 176-degree viewing angle, a resolution of 1920 x 1080 coupled with a variety of inputs, including 3 HDMI for your HD equipment, like a Blu-ray player, and DVI-I connectors for connectivity with a wide variety of equipment and devices. The company maintains a lead as an environmentally advanced company with the production of this world’s largest LCD panel in the Sharp Kameyama Plant in Japan, which is a super green factory. The low power-consumption design of the Sharp LCD display is aimed at reducing CO2 emissions, which is another step towards ensuring a green environment. No word on the price is currently available but it would be somewhere around $150,000..what do you think?

tecnically perfect, wide view angle, environmental friendly... Another display that help me for design ”the top” personal Home Cinemas.
I saw that TV at CES. It’s a monster, so much screen space it’s unbelievable. I can’t imagine what it would be like to watch blu-ray movies on that bad boy. I’ve actually been working with Warner Home Video on some blu-ray projects and can’t get enough of the format.
This is really hypocritical ”The low power-consumption design of the Sharp LCD display is aimed at reducing CO2 emissions”
If some one is really concerned about reducing CO2 emissions, they will not build or buy the world’s largest LCD tv. They’ll stick to something a quarter of that size.
