Though the Airborne Hotel missed the flight to our list of luxurious aircraft interiors, it deserves to be here for creating a niche in an otherwise crammed space. The concept isn’t too new to the world of travelers, but it’s the application of such an arrangement at such a height that is creating ripples in the skies. Still floating as a concept, the Airborne Hotel, also known as abh, is actually a roomy, double-decker seating system for big jets like the A380. With such well designed seating options, air-travelers can chuck their “crammed space woes” outside the aircraft’s cabin. The bi-leveled pattern makes the best of the available space and intends to house more passengers without sacrificing their legroom. This kind of modular system will offer luxurious freedom without throwing its weight on the aircraft, literally. The three aisles planning also promote 50% more corridor space.
With such innovative interiors, the aviation industry can go green by ferrying more passengers per aircraft and at the same time treat each passenger like a king. A brainwork of a team of Mexican-based designers and engineers, this was conceptualized for the annual Create the Future Design Contest.

Could not make out much from the pictures, but from the description the idea sounds cool.
Such double-decker sitting arrangement would surely help have more space to make the seats a bit wider... something that really needs to be done for economy class travelers.
