Concept designs are great, as they give you an idea about what designers can do when they don’t have to be concerned about the mundane stuff. But, the 30-foot concept boat from designer David Borman, which he takes to be the efficient future of transport, looks to be awesome whether we talk about the design or the ‘mundane’ thing. The boast dubbed Sea Phantom is anticipated to enthrall you with the “helicopter speed at a powerboat price”.

Borman further claims that for $2.5 million, his concept boat will facilitate the passengers with the maritime transport capabilities equivalent of a $10-$12 million aircraft. If it goes into production, the first commercial Sea Phantom will be 50 feet long costing $2.5 million and will cruise at 140mph with 24 passengers on board. The first production models for civilian bliss craft will cost between $400,000 and $600,000.

Well, the concept designs might never meet realism, or might do after so many years but the Borman’s Sea Phantom concept is spellbinding. I heartily wish for Borman’s concept boat to meet realism. If you don’t have enough bucks to take a joy ride on Sea Phantom, don’t worry! You possibly have enough time to do that. Check out the beast in action after the jump.
