We have seen the bots do gutter cleaning and mobile teleconferencing and now, we have the Sanyo’s new inspection robot that walks into crawlspaces to check out foundations and make sure there’s no structural damage or other problems. From the looks only, one might take it for some war-ready robot from DARPA. Anyway, the intelligent robot makes use of image processing, collision avoidance and Sanyo’s so-called robot technology, and can wander around inspecting structures for 140 minutes on its lithium-ion battery. Dubbed Yuka shita Inspection Robot, it is expected to go on sale next year for under $9,000 in Japan only.
