A few days back, we were looking at the Sony’s ultra-thin XEL-1 OLED TV and this time, we have Samsung with a super slim LCD TV. The Samsung’s new 40-inch (101.6cm) diagonal Full HD LCD TV panel is just 10 millimeters (0.39-inch) thick. The new panel covers 92% of the NTSC color gamut while consuming less than 90 watts of power. The bezel has been reduced from a conventional 30mm to 14.6mm. There is no word on pricing and availability till now. The new 40-inch panel will be shown at the FPD International 2007, Japan along with a new 46-inch model with a brightness level of 1,500nits and a new 22-inch desktop monitor LCD with a next-generation DisplayPort interface.
