salk sound ht4
The high-end audio market seems to be flourishing as ever, recession or no recession. Another speaker builder that joins the bandwagon is Salk Sound, which has unveiled its new state of the art speaker known as the HT4. The speaker cabinets are constructed out of solid bamboo and are built in two sections. The total height is about 42″. The HT4 will be offered in versions with 12″ and 10″ woofer sections, each with twin opposing passive radiators to cancel out vibrations. Both the models will be available in two variations each: a 12″ version constructed with solid bamboo with further upgrades will cost $17,999 and if constructed with MDF, the cost would be $13,999, plus the cost of veneer. The 10″ model in solid bamboo will retail for $11,999 and MDF finish, and will be cheaper for $9999. The speakers weighs in at 155 pounds each.
