riviera maya spa

Inspired by the jungle and natural water pools of the Yucatan Peninsula, the new $15 million spa at the Grand Velas All Suites & SPA Resort Riviera Maya is a truly extraordinary world-class spa for the most demanding individuals. Built amid the lush jungle that hugs the resort, the Riviera Maya spa at the new Grand Velas is a two-level, 89,000 square foot spa, which also has a 40,000 square foot water lounge. The stone, plants, and streams specific to the Riviera Maya landscape have been preserved by Mexican architects Ricardo Elias and Alexis Elias of EliasElias AR. The spa is a is a true escape into paradise where you can choose from dozens of soothing massage therapies, invigorating body treatments and wraps, as well as facials. A living rock wall with plants and flowers and a small stream has been incorporated to form part of the spa’s curved organic structure. The ceiling has been raised 30 feet to make for a visual connection of the entire spa and to allow natural light to fill the central hydrotherapy space and the treatment rooms.

You can indulge in the ultimate spa experience in the comfort and privacy of your own room when you stay at one of our luxurious spa suites that feature separate treatment rooms, some with a Janzu pool, Shiatsu & Thai massage room or even a hydro-massage tub. Ricardo Elias says…

The unique terrain and the resort’s jungle and seaside location entirely dictated the design and materials.

The spa treatment rooms were designed to capitalize on the feeling of expansiveness, and provide views of the organic features and Water Lounge, while offering complete privacy to guests during their services.

The natural subterranean level is meant for relaxation and the restorative facilities that comprise the Water Journey.
