The Rinspeed sQuba concept car looks to be inspired from the James Bond’s Lotus Esprit, which could transform into a submarine. Well, sQuba is one of the concept cars that will go public at the Geneva Motor Show that runs from March 6th to16th, 2008. Amphibious vehicles are not a new concept but what makes sQuba stand out is the fact that this car has the capacity of diving to a depth of about 33 feet. The world’s first real diving car with zero emission power is powered by an electric motor when it’s on land and once in water, the propulsion is provided by by two propellers and a pair of jet drives at the push of a button. The passengers get the oxygen from a self contained on-board air system. For Rinspeed boss Frank M. Rinderknecht the sQuba symbolizes the realization of a long-cherished dream and of movie fictions. The Rinspeed sQuba will, most likely, remain a unique and one-off concept car. Driving underwater with breathtaking view of the aquatic life may soon be a reality with this car. How about taking your date on a long drive in this car...underwater!
