A few months back, we were talking about a Rolls Royce auction by the 82 year-old real-estate developer Richard J. Solove, who is well-known for his collection of Rolls Royce cars. He was to auction off 13 of the 14 Rolls Royce cars in his collection for the betterment of mankind and he expected to generate $15 million or more with this auction. Now, the auction has ended and the 13 cars were sold for $14.3 million. Eight cars, including all the Silver Ghosts except for one, were bought by billionaire Houston trailawyer John O’Quinn. The auctioned money will be given to the Arthur G. James Cancer hospital and its affiliates to aid cancer research.

So I guess his investment with cars will go into good use. That is one hell of a guy. Hopefully he can also auction some Taylor Cable Shrink Sleeves.
It’s a shame that Mr. O’Quinn could only enjot this collection for 2 years as he passed away a few weeks ago in Houston. This was/is a fnatastic collection of historic vehicles.
