halo-suit_12We are certainly not writing about any of the costume sales on eBay. This Halo suit is for real. Yes, folks! A crazy (or should we say passionate gamer) inventor has gone deep into the game to actually create a working Halo suit, that is just the same like the video game version. The Hamilton-born inventor hopes to protect the Canadian soldiers in Afghanistan and U.S. soldiers in Iraq with this special military suit. That can take on bullets and bombs, knives and clubs, to protect the wearer. This armored suit is fitted with morphine/salt containers, knife and gun holsters, emergency lights, a built-in recording device, pepper spray, and an ingestible transponder that can be swallowed in case of trouble. The helmet is fitted with a solar-powered fresh-air system and a drinking tube to sustain the wearer in tough conditions. There is even a laser pointer mounted in the middle of the forehead to point to snipers, while LED lights frame the face. The whole suit comes in at 18 kilograms and was tailored in a span of 2 years for a cost of $15,000. It could be mass-produced for about $2,000.
