When you are a collector, you pride yourself on owning the rarest of the rare. A rare Nintendo World Championship gold cartridge, which was up for grabs on eBay with an asking price of $25,000, has been sold for $17,500 only. The NWC Gold was bought by JJ Hendricks after it failed to sell for the pre-asked price. Amusingly, the first FedEx shipment for the rare video game was canceled due to its having the wrong address. Moreover, the seller was going to sell it to someone else who was ready to pay $18,500 in cash and pick it up locally, but the offer fell through. When JJ Hendricks finally received the shipment, he was pleased to find the Nintendo World Championships Gold neatly packaged inside with a custom built display case. He calls it the “Holy Grail of Gaming.” There were only ever 26 of the NWC Gold ever made and they are not real gold but just gold paint.
