Want to memorialize cremated loved ones in an inimitable way? A Canadian portrait artist by the name of Lucas Seaward has come with a unique way of drawing portrait with people’s ashes. About a tablespoon of ashes can be put into a special kind of pencil, which could be used for drawing a memorial portrait in shades of grey. The artist has applied for the patent and has even started a company called Honor Industries to promote the concept to funeral homes. It’s not a new concept as you must have also heard of the US firm that converts a loved one’s remains into a diamond. Anyway, a portrait of the deceased doesn’t come cheap as the starting cost is US $4,730 depending on the size and complexity of the work.

Personally, I think it’s crazy idea....i mean a picture of your loved one should do the work. I’m sure the deceased souls would probably be more happier if the amount was used for charity in their name!
This is a incredible new development. Quite the concept, worth looking further into. Not going to be for everyone, but certainly better than any other option available today. Like scattering or burial of the urn, a chessy diamond or shot into space. I came across their website www.honorindustries.ca, beautifully put together, and unprecedented quality of craftsmenship. 2 big thumbs up to Honor Industries!!! You have my business.
