Human civilization has come a long way in imitating the flight of its winged friends and this stupendous collection of flying sculptures by New York-based artist Paul Villinski is but a fitting collection to the once-impossible dream. Currently on display at the Museum of Arts and Design in the ‘Pricked: Extreme Embroidery’ section, the collection features sculptures and designs made from objects as unrelated to flight as a chainsaw and wheelchairs and seem simply out of this world with their rayon and muslin fabrics and wire, steel, aluminum and wood bodies. Check out the image gallery to see his amazing flying machines.
