The holiday season is around, which means it’s the right time to start planning for the holiday trips with your family. And if you plan to hit the road in your own caravan and are considering buying one, then Belgian architect Axel Enthoven (conceived and developed by Rob Vos) is here with his refreshing mobile holiday home that has been christened “Opera” for its striking shape, reminiscent of the Sydney Opera House. Though Opera is not the luxury caravan of your dreams, it falls in the category of capsule caravans that are a stylish substitute, perfect for urban nomads. The arresting shape is intended to be your suite in nature and it packs in enough luxury to let you enjoy nature in the truest sense. Made in hardwood, stainless steel and leather, this contemporary living tent features magical dimensions and it sets up inside 5 minutes almost like at the press of a button without tent pegs, stabilizer jacks and loose tent poles. The interiors feature a residence measuring 7 meters long, more than 3 meters wide and 3.5 meters high with two first class and electrically adjustable beds that become one with a single simple movement, hot and cold water, ceramic toilet, LED lighting and a mobile hob and barbecue. The other luxuries include a wine cabinet, warm-air heating, espresso bar and an enclosed teak veranda. The Opera will be presented for the first time at the Design at Work trade fair in Kortrijk in December, and will go into production in 2010 in limited numbers, so maybe you should plan a trip with this next year.
