Before, you leave for your Christmas Holidays, we are here with the answers to your questions straight from the Luxist & Slashfood blogger Nicole Weston. So, Enjoy and have a Happy Christmas!

1. Ben: Nic, what about the junk food hullabaloo, should we ban it altogether, it’s delicious isn’t it?
Nicole: Junk food is delicious - no doubt about it! I don’t think that it should be banned altogether, no matter what nutritionists say about junk food’s role in the “obesity epidemic.” People are on the road to regulating their own diets - and some will do it better than others - and that as long as the every-growing interest in food and cooking continues, a lot of these issues will work themselves out in the long run as people start to make better food choices for themselves overall, leaving room for the occasional indulgence (or two).
2. Keith: Do you first have a hand-on experience of all the recipes and then publish them or is it just about plain food publishing?
Nicole: Unless I specifically state that I didn’t test a recipe myself, which I do only very rarely, I make every recipe I write about. As long as it looks good, I try to take a photo, too.
3. Lee: What’s your first love writing on luxury gadgets or food blogging?
Nicole: Tough call - how about luxury food gadgets?
4. Reeene: NASA is planning a lunar base; what about a visit over there and what all eatables will you carry along?
Nicole: It’s not food, but I suspect that I’d want something to help with the motion sickness that I hear zero-gravity can trigger. Aside from that, I’d want to take coffee, fresh fruit (for snacking and smoothies) and easy to prepare food items, because I don’t know what kind of a kitchen setup NASA would have and I suspect that my KitchenAid mixer might not work so well up there and baking might be out of the question. I hear that Alain Ducasse is working on some exotic space-food treats and I would willing take anything that he made up with me.
5. Mark: Apart from Blogging what do you love doing and yes, except cooking too?
Nicole: Apart from blogging and cooking, my biggest love is horseback riding. I have ridden dressage, jumpers, saddleseat and gaited horses and love it all, but no matter what discipline I’m doing, American Saddlebreds are my favorite breed.
6. Andy: If you are given a choice to choose a car for free, which one will you go for, and why?
Nicole: I think the BMW Hydrogen 7 is pretty amazing, since it’s a luxury car that can run on both hydrogen and gasoline. It looks great and the reaction to it has been tremendous, so I don’t doubt that it really will be the wave of the future. I wouldn’t turn down a Ferrari, either.
7. Kunal: How do you select and decide about the topics you’ve to write on?
Nicole: One of the main reasons I choose certain subjects is that they’re personally interesting to me. This is particularly true of food blogging, since I have to eat everything I make. The longer you blog, the more you get a sense of what the readers are interested in, so I try to choose things along those lines, as well. Once in a while I like to throw in something off-beat (a celebrity shopping spree or something similar) to keep things interesting.
8. Ankit: What do you find so much alluring about all the luxury stuff there, like why do you think anyone should spend a million for million dollar lure or diamond pens?
Nicole: When you’re getting into outrageously expensive products like these, practicality goes out the window. The companies make them to impress people and luxury goods lovers are impressed (and occasionally shocked). You don’t have to buy them to enjoy hearing about them, but if you can afford it and it makes you happy, go for it.
9. Jason: What would you say to those all rich people are the likes of Paris Hilton?
Nicole: People like Paris leave me speechless.
10. Ammy: What would you prefer among the two, a flying car or a trip underwater in your personal submarine?
Nicole: Definitely a flying car. I live in Southern California and that would get me out of rush hour traffic!
11. Nandini: Finally, your views about BornRich & Instablogs Network?
Nicole: I’ll answer this one about luxury blogs in general. I think that they’re great. There is such a huge range of luxury out there, both small and large, and every writer and every blog can find a niche that they really work well in. The community builds on itself and with more people reporting, there won’t be many clothing trends, diamond-studded gadgets or hot new supercars that we’ll miss out on.
BornRich team wishes Nicole and all our readers a very Happy Christmas and best wishes for the New Year!
