nextfest-human-robot_12The NextFest exhibition in New York is showing off an army of robots that are smart enough to take over from the army of workers who do not have time to prepare their daily meals. The NextFest debuts mechanical chefs, the smart fridge that tells you when the orange juice is running low, digital ballroom dancers among its 160 futuristic inventions from companies around the world. There is a robot DJ that can play vinyl discs from dusk till dawn without getting tired, “Actroid DER” a femme robot with amazingly lifelike silicon skin and a silky voice to match. The robot is meant to rent-out to companies to act as a receptionist or to make high-tech presentations.

And, with the digital revolution more advanced in the kitchen, General Electric has developed an intelligent kitchen where the soap powder can be rationed and the oven temperature can be automatically set according to the meal. The fridge can even help re-stock used-up food via informing its owner via telephone message. Check-out the video of Human-like robots here.
