NEC has unveiled its new personal robot PaPeRo at CeBIT that can live in the home and serve as companion to family members. The personal robot is engineered with great childcare capabilities like it features image recognition technology, it can converse with people using voice recognition and synthesizing technologies, has motion sensors. It has built-in mobile phone, so if a parent calls PaPeRo locates their child and starts playing with him/her. The parent can also talk to their child using PaPeRo’s microphones and speakers. It can distinguish between children’s voice as well as adults’ voice and it also has ultrasonic tag locating. So, how about a personal and entertaining body-guard for you darling kid!!
