Splurging on the home is one of those trends that has seen an upswing in the recession. And if you too are on the way to a heavenly abode then designer Helmet Schafferhofer has a great variety of ideas to add value to your living space. The designer has mastered the art of infusing technology into furniture without compromising on the aesthetics - like the “Heimweh Loge” multimedia lounger that comes equipped with a 22-inch LCD TV, along with a DVD and CD player placed inside the roof of a wraparound base unit. Another novelty in relaxation furniture is the Heimweh “InfoLine” lounge chair that combines ergonomical relaxation and state of the art information technologies in an aesthetical way. The lounger console integrates a convertible tablet PC to allow you freedom to choose the way of handling your InfoLine unit however you’d like to. The ergonomic lounger features Swarovski crystal LEDs to enlighten the surroundings.
Other must-haves for consideration are the Sweet Sleep (featured left), which is the embodiment of a child’s design piece which will lull its occupant to sleep. The designer says, “Although the nature with its unique beauty is difficult to overcome, I try always to create new shapes inspired his treasures every day.”

Refugia (featured left) is a relaxation pad with the upper part 1.3 meters above the ground to recreate the feeling of diving into a luxury cave; the Pipe is a hideaway like padded furniture; and the Wood Wave is a whimsical wooden lounger with ergonomic pillowed overlay.
The designer’s complete range boasts of exotic leather upholstery and high-end craftsmanship. You can further personalize them to fit it to any architectural style.
