Rich folks, who would never think of lodging in a motel, might just love to hit the road in this Mo.Tel Caravan from Rob Millington, a 2009 graduate of the Transport and Product Design course at Coventry University. The concept caravan is a refreshing take on the standard caravan. Rob says, “Caravanning is stale and boring, and I wanted to design something that could add a little spark and attract new people to caravanning. I wanted to effectively design a hotel room on wheels, something that just says quality as soon as you step in.” The styling of the Mo.Tel was inspired by the iconic Airstream caravans and 1950s styling elements, which reflects in the use of whitewall tires, aerodynamic wheel covers and sleek design.

Though the mini caravan is not as huge as the Airstream trailers we have earlier told you about, it’s still a chic option for the younger generation. The interiors are done with contemporary furniture and the limited space is effectively utilized with an electronically operated pop-up roof that gives access to the bedroom via the movable ladder at the end of the kitchen area that stands in the corner of main living area. There is a comfortably sized bathroom and a clean kitchen with a fold-out breakfast bar area. The living area features a sofa bed for a guest; stackable chairs provide versatile seating options. Additional space is provided via the fold-down rear panel which makes a decking area that can be used as both an inside and outside space. The Mo.Tel is constructed from a lightweight GRP foam core sandwich body that sits on top of a steel tubular chassis.
