A London-based antique wine company has sold 1787 vintage Sauternes from Chateau Yquem, what is thought to be the most expensive bottle of white wine in the world at a staggering price of $100,000. The sweet wine is made in Bordeaux from completely shrivelled up, late harvested grapes and has the concentration that enables it to mature for even centuries. The special vintage wine is purchased by a US based collector of fine wines.
