mobile robots

Robots are certainly becoming more social, with more and more service robots coming our way. Now, a company called Mobile Robots is offering new robotic assistants to help you in household chores. They have revealed a revamped version of their commercial PatrolBot design to provide consumers with three all new service robots. The first in the line is ‘Jeeves’ that serves food or drink on a cheery tray and greets your guests with a message you have typed in. Then comes the ‘BrewskiBot’ that brings up to 2 six-packs in its mobile frig. Last in the line is ‘Agent 007′ that comes with an integrated camera, and as the name says, acts as a security guard who will roam around in your home capturing photos to ensure you are safe and will also remind you when you leave that door open.

All the three models feature the heavy PatrolBot base, with electric drive motors, 12 sonar sensors, 10 bumper panels, and wireless control. It is able to handle payloads of up to 40kg, or 25kg on an 8:1 ramp. I am pretty sure party-loving housewives are going to like it. But, the only thing that might stop one from buying them is the price tag.

These service bots are price between $31,000 and $35,000. That’s really expensive for the little work these bots will do. Still, these cute bots would make for a nice Christmas present.
