Some nasty guys at the Nagano branch of the Bank of Japan have crafted a 1/70 scale replica of Matsumoto Castle out of paper money which has been taken out of circulation. The 5,000 and 10,000 yen notes used in the construction account to a total of 100 million yen (US $818,000). The 70cm tall replica was built to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the creation of Matsumoto City. Why don’t they give all the bygone notes to me...I will make the Titanic out of them.
