A fossilized penis bone from an extinct walrus isn’t an accustomed kind of artifact to place inside your home. Found in Siberia, a 1.2 meter long fossilized baculum (penis bone) from an extinct walrus has been sold for US $8,000 at a natural history auction in Beverly Hills, California. The total price goes up to $9,600, including the auction fees. The fossilized penis bone is from a species of walrus that went extinct 12,000 years ago. It’s curved and is covered with weathered skin and dry muscle tissue. It was believed to be the largest known mammal penis fossil by the auction house. The company who brought this unusual item runs the Ripley’s Believe It or Not museums. So, it won’t be in someone’s home but probably in museums for public display. Anyway, this massive penis bone was expected to fetch around $16,000.
