picture 1Lisa Katayama, the lady geek who defies the general belief that female bloggers are not treated as nicely as their male counterparts even on the internet - is flaunting our Cool Geek crown this time. Yes, this Japanese pro blogger is the one who constantly gives you your daily dose of all things Japanese at Tokyo Mango – okay, we better shut up; she doesn’t needs an introduction. Lisa was born and raised in the birth city of Godzilla, however, and is currently holding her base camp in San Francisco. She is also associated with Boing Boing Gadgets and contributes to a number of top-notch magazines and sites, including Wired, Gizmodo, Lifehacker, Popular Science, NYT Magazine and io9.

The writer nomad has traveled all over Asia and other exotic places like South Africa, India and Brazil and has also written a book named “Urawaza: Secret Everyday Tips and Tricks from Japan.” Apart from blogging, if she is not hooked up with her speaking, reading and consulting gigs, don’t be surprised to see her speeding down hills on skis, rock climbing, playing volleyball, crafting, eating, watching flicks and playing video games.
