First introduced in 1972, the Sondek LP12 SE turntable is often accompanied by the words like “standard” and “reference.” The Scottish maker Linn lately has given three new upgrades to the device for far improved audiophile quality. The newly added features include a Ekos SE tone arm that offers more rigid design for an even greater musical performance, KEEL sub-chassis and armboard made from one solid piece of aluminium to enable true reproduction of your vinyl collection, and a new aluminum Trampolin base board. Other intriguing features include a patented low-noise bearing to purge noise and optimize information retrieval, and a flawlessly balanced belt-driven platter to sustain speed stability. The upgraded Linn Sondek LP12 Mechanical comes in Black Ash, American Cherry, Rosenut, Maple and Walnut. As Linn is notorious for its pricey A/V equipments, the $2,800 price tag seems to be a bargain.
