TV watching will never be the same again, with the arrival of LG’s new LCD range. LCD TVs have been here for quite some time now. But the latest collection unveiled at the London Fashion Week offer more than just a couple of other LCD TVs. The LG6000 LCD HDTV Series is available in sizes 32-, 37-, 42- and 47-inch. Its slim, sleek silhouette caught as much attention as its unique feature: the red-colored back with a round LED light aperture which gives the set a soft red pulsating glow. And that’s only the beginning. The set is loaded with features. It promises a 15:000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and 24p TruCinema. 42- and 47-inchers are blessed with TruMotion 100Hz technology. Brightness and color can be automatically optimised by the Intelligent Sensor. Following close behind is the hero plasma model, the PG6000, sporting a glass-pane slim, sleek, frameless design. It comes with 30:000:1 contrast ratio, 100,000-hour panel (approximately 30 years), Dual XD Engine, THX and Display Certification. With both TV sets, experience picture clarity as never before with Four HDMI 1.3 with Deep Colour. Take advantage of the LG SimpLink connectivity to control other LG SimpLink-compatible equipment. Clear Voice Technology makes sure that you hear dialogues distinctly even when there is heavy background noise, specially applicable in case of action movies.
Both offer you LG SimpLink connectivity to control other LG SimpLink-compatible equipment and AV Mode allowing choice of movie, game and sport mode. In fact, these are more than just a TV. The USB 2.0 jack allows you to view JPEG photos on the TV Screen and listen to MP3 music files. Now that’s what I call multi-functional. The specialty of the new range lies in the invisible speaker system, specially tuned by Mark Levinson. It incorporates speaker actuators around the perimeter of the bezel, eliminating the need for traditional speaker drivers and associated grills. Now try calling them idiot boxes!
