bugatti type 55

All you ultra rich fat cats heading out to Monaco this season, to buy a couple of antique cars for your private collection will love to hear this one. How about knowing that the LeMans version of the legendary Bugatti type 55 is up for sale? Yes, Bonhams are all set to put this legend under the hammer in this seasons’ Bonhams vintage car exhibition. Now, coming to the vintage racer itself, the stunning 1932 Type 55 Bugatti LeMans raced way back in 1934. This vintage racer is one surviving example of the 38 type-55 Bugatti’s that were ever made. The car made in 1932, was owned by the French amateur driver, Charles Brunet and has also been crashed in that race. An expensive restoration by the French specialist Etablissements NOVO followed and the Type 55 was later sold to the Bill Serri collection and more recently the ‘Mas du Clos’ collection. Now, this beauty can be yours and May 10th it is, when this vintage goes under the Hammer at Monaco for between €2,000,000 and €2,600,000.

Other highlights of the sale include a 1938 BMW 328 (€400,000 – 600,000), 1969 Ferrari 365 GTS (€500,000 – 800,000), 1972 Ferrari 365 GTS/4 NART Spyder by Michelotti (€525,000-675,000) and 1958 Aston Martin DB MKIII DHC (€150,000 – 200,000).
