Though most of us hesitate to wear anything that is gold, we all get lured by the yellow metal because it is precious. Because gold has been the symbol of wealth and prosperity for thousands of years, it is clearly etched in our psyche that anything made of it has to be luxurious. This time we bring to you a pair of golden shoes that don’t look gaudy but simply mind-blowing. This uber-luxurious pair of sneakers was created by Robert Coin, the acclaimed jeweler, in order to celebrate the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The sneakers are made of 24-karat gold-varnished nappa leather and are later coated with a PVC lacquered film to add sheen and protection. If that doesn’t sound opulent enough, what if we told you that the sneakers also have an 18-karat gold clasp and Robert Coin’s signature ruby studded? These golden pair of shoes comes at a price of $31,000. Coin also has created many dazzling pieces of jewelry along with this jeweled sneaker. Make sure you don’t visit the seedier parts of the town after wearing these unfairly expensive shoes.
