We are here with the quirky answers from the gorgeous Goldstriker co-founder, Katherine Hughes. So guys, stop gawking at her and appreciate her entrepreneur skills and the ease with which she handled the questions.

1). Catherine: You said you were into gold plating cars earlier so are you guys still doing it? Tell us about your prized project so far?

Kath: Yes we still do it, not on a massive scale for we are far too busy with tricking up gadgets. However we made a 24ct gold Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe’ for a client who unfortunately does not want to be named and would not even let us take pictures of the finished project but I can tell you its under lock and key because it’s a present for his wife for their up and coming Anniversary for 2010. Its Diamond black with all 24ct accessories inc the wheels, grille etc etc & accents for the interior.

2). Bernie: How you got into this bling business? Is that owing to the vast scope this filed entails or that’s what you are most passionate about?

Kath: It was my husbands idea way back in 1982 at the tender age of 11, he used to ride BMX and fell over when he seen a U.S.A made BMX called Hutch, it had a black frame but with 24ct gold components.
So later on in life he restored and goldplated the whole bike which was said to be the most expensive and rare BMX ever built and was sold on to well known sports manufacturer. So to answer the question ‘Passion’ got us going in this field.

3). Mike: Any inspirations you want to dedicate your success to?

Kath: The USA gold plated BMX.

4). Jonathan: Any product from other designers you wish you should have designed?

Kath: No they all seem to know what they are doing.

5). Gina: Where do you see GoldStriker heading in future? Any plans for expansion outside of the cell phone market?

Kath: Yes we have lately signed a couple of non disclosure agreements with the worlds top manufacturers to design their forthcoming projects, yes I would love to go into detail but my lips are unfortunately sealed.

6). Roudy: How big is your team and how do you guys decide upon which gadget to get the Midas touch next?

Kath: We operate a small team of 12 inc myself. Me & Stuart my husband decide together on which device get the Goldstriker treatment.

7). Samantha: Where do you see GoldStriker’s standing as a brand in comparison to big players like Vertu?

Kath: There is no comparison really we furnish the worlds highest end gadgets & cellphones etc etc. People do recognize Goldstriker as a brand and we are very flattered by this. I admire ‘Vertu’ for what they have achieved in more ways than one, they put their money where their mouth is and invented their own brand in creating the world’s finest phones.

8). Dave: Your pick for top most luxurious handsets including your own?

Kath: My platinum iphone for everyday use for functionality but for my nights and if I had a bit more to spend out it would have to be something by Goldvish.
