For $100,000, you can buy yourself a host of video games in which you can imagine to fly around in. But, you also have the option to put the same amount of money to buy a jet-powered ThunderPack from Thunderbolt Aerosystems that will take you to the skies for real. The creator, Carmelo Nino Amarena cites that his jetpack is an update of the hydrogen peroxide-powered packs of the 1950s, but it has been updated to make use of two fuels and special catalysts and promoter. The ThunderPack has been tested to offer 75 seconds of flight time. If you think the flight time is too less, lemme tell you that it’s much more than being offered by Tecnologia Aeroespacial Mexicana and Jetpack International. According to Amarena, such a vehicle could be used for a host of defense, commercial and personal purposes, including support of military missions, disaster relief efforts, border patrol assignments, and even overcoming those snail-paced commutes. The market price for the dual-fuel Thunderpack is expected to be in the $100,000 range, with the high test peroxide model selling for $90,000.
