It’s official now. The maker of Roomba, iRobot is ready to do the gutter cleaning. The company has let loose Looj, the gutter cleaning robot along with another little buddy dubbed ConnectR. The iRobot ConnectR is a virtual visiting robot and comes equipped with a full tilt-and-zoom video camera, a speaker, a headlight, and a mic for mobile teleconferencing. The ConnectR is the company’s first move into virtual communication and interaction. The Looj, as advertised, is designed to clean gutters and reduces the ladder work. It stands 2.25 inches high and works with standard K-style, aluminum, copper, metal or vinyl gutters. The Looj will set you back $100 while a very limited number of ConnectR robots will be available in late 2007 for $199. When it will start shipping in 2008, it will cost $500.
