The Imperial Diamond Necklace that belonged to the Russian Empress Catherine the Great has recently been sold by the Sotheby auction house at Geneva for a price of $1.5 nillion. The antique diamond necklace belonged to the eighteenth century and featured a row of 27 large cushion-shaped diamonds within a border of stylized foliate motifs and embellished with a ribbon bow-clasp, which can also be worn separately. The necklace sold for a lesser price then the expected price of $1.9 million.
